Reflecting on Freedom -
While traveling today across 4 states, symbols of freedom kept popping up. Freedom is an all encompassing part of so many things that we enjoy. Just one facet is Freedom of Speech including what we write, what we read, and what we hear, which we're all well acquainted with on AR.
Driving across northern New Mexico, station 94.5 is a Native American station that plays commercials in an Indian Dialect while playing country music. Station 102.7 in eastern New Mexico taught me to drink ice cold water to burn more calories, then advertised an all natural supplement to cure just about everything.
Driving on the interstate BY MYSELF, stopping where I wanted, when I wanted without fear of well... anything. No one would stop me, ask for my identification, or question why I was where I was. My plans weren't printed, documented, or disclosed to anyone other than my family. It wasn't necessary to have my "papers" with me. Persecution never entered my mind.
Symbols of American Freedom, other than the flag, streamed along with me. Seeing them was reassuring and part of my celebration for the 4th of July today. How did you spend your day?
