Summer Time and the Weather Is....HOT!

There is no doubt that here in RI coastal real estate we long for the warmth of summer after the tough winter season we had. Yet, the force of the heat has become oppressive...on the roads to our southern RI beaches, the lots are filled by 10 a.m. yet the cars (according to the news channels) are backed up for 5 miles trying to find a location to park and car and get in the ocean. The migration in summer time to our Narragansett Beach and others is amazing.

Me, well I have my own little piece of heaven swimming and bogey boarding in Narragansett Bay by Calf Pasture beach. Yesterday, I ran home in between appointments grabbed my board and headed for the beach! An hour in the bay (temperature at 75 degrees!! yes) is just so relaxing when the air temperature is in the mid 90's.

There is so much to do as a RI coastal real estate agent when homes are going fast...if in great condition, right price point and location. Buyers can say they can wait but it does not make any sense to wait now. Prices are increasing (up 6% over last year) and mortgage rates are inching up.

Ginny - great way to spend your time in between appointments! I was watching HGTV and they did a special on "House on the Rocks" built on the largest of the Dumpling Islands. It showed how clear, clean and beautiful Narraganset Bay is and all I could think is this is in your backyard!

Martha, I am making a point of it...those are the 'Towers' in Narragansettt pier in Narragansett RI and a huge gambling casino at the turn of the century was attached to it but burned. It was quite the spot between Newport and there!
