I've never really went to the Braves game or any baseball game for that matter because I loved sitting in the stadium and watching the game.  I went because my baseball player LOVED the game.  From the age of 3 until 9 1/2 my daughter LOVED baseball.  She didn't care who played as long as she could watch.  If you're passionate about real estate and everyone knows it, it becomes your driving force and you become great at what you do.  Breana was passionate about baseball.  Her older brother played and ever since she was two he would throw the ball to (at) her and she would have to stop the ball or it rolled down the hill.  She quickly learned and I never understood why he would do that to her.  I think he got a kick out of watching her get in front of the ball.

victorian HomeThe better you get or the more well known you are, the more often you are called upon in any field to help out the team.  Maybe your specialty is old homes and everyone knows it, so when anyone is looking for that special old Victorian home they automatically come to you.  They look to you for answers and they know that with you on their team they will win the sale.

Because Breana had constantly played with her older brother and had learned how to stop the ball and how to throw she eventually became well known at the ball field and was first base man on severalbaseball player asleepteams.  She would get done with one game and sometimes she would be asked to play up on someone else's team to help them out.  This would absolutely wear her out.

Eventually no matter what you do or how you try to protect yourself you have the chance of getting hurt. You have to protect yourself the best you can, while watching out for others and doing what is best for the team. Last year she played her first year of kid pitch and she got hurt pretty bad two different times and both times she took the hit, went on to first base.  The first time wasn't as bad, so she stayed in the game and went on around to score.  The second time she made it to first base, but couldn't run so she came out for the rest of the game.  She did finish the season, she didn't let the team down.  And I notice that a lot of realtor's have some pretty impressive teams, but when one gets take out of the game it affects the whole team.  Because of getting hurt, she has decided that she wasn't gong to play this spring.  Dad and I are both wondering what we're going to do with all the free time that we are going to have now.  I imagine she is still going to want to go see the Braves play.

Oh How I'm going to miss the action of the baseball field.

Very nice relation here.  I like how you compared the two.  And, yes there is always the Braves and next year we will have Triple A in Gwinnett so that should be exciting too.

"Great Post"...:) For some reason, every time I think of baseball I have the sudden urge to do the wave and grab a hotdog!! GET YOUR PEANUTS FRESH PEANUTS!

P.S.- Your little one sounds like she was quite a player. I remember my softball days. Sad but true, I got stuck in right field and catcher. Those are the only two places they trusted me with oh yeah and the dug out. Poor me! lol :)

Great story. I love the baseball-real estate relationship here. I have a six year old and he got hurt a little last year. He still has yet to let me know if he will play this year!

Spring Training Baseball...just another great thing about Florida. Crack of the bat, smell of fresh cut grass, peanuts, popcorn, suntans, etc...

Looks like your little girl is more of a "man" than most baseball players. She has not "armor" on at all.

Bonnie:  Great pictures of your daughter.  Great how you compared baseball and real estate.  We are a team within our on company, but I feel all Realtors are a team in and of itself and we should all try to work that way and that includes lenders, inspectors and all the valuable players who make the home buying and selling process successful  Go Team!

Linda,  I can see us now "we're headed to Gwinnett"  It should be insteresting b/c right now shes focused on basketball, she's playing this year and is really doing well at it.

Lindsay,  She loved baseball and it showed when she was on the field.

Team DiMuria,  Hopefully he will go back on the field.  It's such a fun age to watch them play.  My 15 year old played last year too, talk about some intense games.  WHEW

Johnny,  there is nothing better than the smells of a baseball game except when your team hits a homerun and the guy in front of you gets REAL excited and his beer ends up in your lap. lol   The picture with her pitching I can just imagine her saying this "Alright boy, let's see if you can hit this" She was very gutsy.

Donna,  I agree with that whole heartedly.  If we don't all win, nobody wins. It's just how the game of life is played.

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Great post with the realtion to our industry. One question, do they have girls softball leagues in your town. When my daughter moved on from baseball at an early age, she made the transition quite easily to softball and had some very productive and happy years in softball. Good way for your daughter to still stay connected to the game.

Jim, Yes and I've tried to get her to think about it, maybe try it instead and of course several of her friends play, but she wouldn't switch over.  I think it was something about getting all those boys out, and then when they did make it to first base she would talk to them and they would forget to run sometimes.  She really had a blast and was quite the first baseman.  I may try to push it again, but she did take up basketball and is doing quite well at it, even tho it is her first year playing.  Either way Life Goes On :-)

Thanks for your entry! You did a great job relating baseball to real estate. I really like the personal pictures. I'm sure she will find her sport. It sounds like she has already learned quite a bit about the team dynamic that will definitely help her throughout life. Go BRAVES!

Thanks Rich, this one took some creative thinking.  All this blogging is really giving me ideas on speeches.  I just joined Toastmaster and I'm going to have to come up with some good ideas.  Active Rain is a great place to find them.
