ARE YOU TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SMART PHONE USERS' HABITS?
Social media is becoming more and more a part of our marketplace. Buyers and sellers are coming to us from more nontraditional sources than ever before.
When I am out and about selling homes in Rockwall, Texas I constantly strive to reach out to buyers and sellers via all the means of social media as that is where I can find them.
The Texas Association of Realtors reports the following figures:
- Percentage of total U.S, population using smart phones in 2012 - 49.4%
- Projected for 2013 - 57.3%
- Average time spent daily - 132 minutes
- Days of week with highest level of engagement - Friday, Saturday & Sunday
- Amount of respondents' time spent on smart phones on calling - 16%
- Amount of respondents' time spent on their smart phones communication via text, email and social applications - 84%
It is easy to see that those using SMART PHONES as a means of communication is the way everyone communicates today. Texting is the way most people talk these days. Social Media is where it is rather than traditional means. We have to stay in step with the changing times when we are out and about selling homes in Rockwall, Texas as well as across the nation.
First responders are the ones the prospect will likely stick with so if you do not respond quickly you will not get the worm! If you are busy with a client, respond briefly letting them know you will call back quickly.
I got a a call to come list a home. I asked them how they came to call me and they said they had called another Realtor from her sign and they did not respond so they got back in their car and saw my sign and called me. I was able to be out there that afternoon and the rest is history. I was the first responder and got a great listing. I got the plum and she got the worm!
