A Bargain for Home Buyers in Salt Lake City, Utah: It's Time to Come Out of Hibernation

Just like the grizzly bear foraging for the winter months to find his way into hibernation, when the fall of 2007 approached many home buyers, they too filled their tummies full (media coverage of the real estate market) and went into hibernation to sleep it off until things warmed up a bit.

Well it's warming up Utah home buyers and with all the advantages provided for you to purchase a home in Utah, it's time to get out and start searching for your new home, whether you already live in Salt Lake City or you're relocating to Hill AFB for a new job.

What are the advantages of buying a home in Salt Lake City or the surrounding areas? To name a few:

To add to that list, when I opened my email this morning I found in my inbox a wonderful article packed with optimism that will add to all the many reasons why you should buy in Utah. In this fantastic article written by Matt Woolsey on Forbes.com titled Best Cities For Bargain House-Hunters he shares that Utah’s Salt Lake City is #1 of the top ten list.

  1. Salt Lake City, UT.
  2. Raleigh, NC.
  3. Orlando, FL.
  4. Charlotte, NC.
  5. Phoenix, AZ.
  6. Seattle, WA.
  7. Las Vegas, NV.
  8. Jacksonville, FL.
  9. Richmond, VA.
  10. Houston, TX.

What makes Salt Lake City Utah a bargain for home buyers? As Matt Woolsey shared we have strong job growth, low foreclosures and high inventory. As a buyer, what more can you ask for? Salt Lake City is the Capitol of Utah and in addition to strong job growth we have convenient forms of transportation, we are close to all the major highways (I-15, I-215), and we are a short driving distance to many of Utah’s attractions.

GREAT idea, to tie the housing market to hibernating bears, and so timely, with spring around the corner.  Let's see, what can I use here...  maybe politicians coming back to earth?  daffodils breaking ground...

Linda: Oh what a blessing it is to see you here! I truly need to call you again and will attempt tomorrow. Thank you for the wonderful comment you have left and Happy Valentines Day! You have a wonderful weekend too and hug your family lots. Big hugs to you!

Margaret: You are so funny! I do love your ideas, that is great. Thank you for your great comment and Happy Valentines Day!

Carole: Our office sent out this email and when I read it, all could think is, Oh yes, Mr. Woolsey has that right. The interesting thing is, this past week the phone started ringing like crazy for buyers to see by listings. So they are starting to come out of hibernation. Thank you for your wonderful comment my friend and Happy Valentines Day!

Julie, it's great the Salt Lake City area topped the list. I had heard about Charlotte in at #4, but your backyard takes the prize. I hope it is great for your business this year.

Julie- I just love your creativity on this relo package and the judges as I said before are looney if they don't choose you as the winner of the contest. Your vision and the manner of these posts you are doing are the best I have seen.

Salt Lake City has the lowest unemployment out of all the metro cities too! That is a good thing.

Julie, with so many BRAC relocations to Hill AFB, I'm glad to see that mention.  Newcomers AND current Salt Lake City residents will be in good hands when they choose you as their real estate agent.

Gary: It's always great to see the optimism pour out about the market and about Utah. Utah truly is a wonderful place to live and there is such a diverse amount of scenery, activities and housing available for the residences. Thank you for you comment.

Dale: Now that was fantastic and so very kind. Thank you and with that call to action, how can I go wrong. I hope your weekend is absolutely wonderful.

Cynthia: The sad thing my friend, I think I'll need to join bloggers anonymous. LOL  Thank you for you wonderful comment and have a great weekend.

Gayle: You would love Utah, truly. Start out in the Summer months though and then work your way into winter. We have had one of our heaviest winters ever. It's unbelievable. Thank you for you comment and enjoy your weekend.

Candy: Thank you for you wonderful support and my hope is for this to definitely make a difference in the buyers view of Utah. Have a wonderful weekend.

Katerina: You my friend are such a wonderful support to me and the time spent to put these posts out about Utah. Utah gives one much to be passionate about and if any of these posts make even a little difference for one person, it's well worth it to me. Thank you, truly, for your incredible words of support. Ahhh...that is fantastic! I need to add that in the blog. That is right, Utah does have the highest unemployment in the metro cities. Thank you again and enjoy your weekend.

Margaret: Yes, the BRAC relocations to Hill AFB will have this information at hand in their search. Thank you so much for your support and when the BRAC relocations make their way to Utah, I will be here to help them and our locals at any time. Have a wonderful weekend.

Ginger: I don't have Photoshop, however it is my list of to do's. I just searched out the graphics in the free sites and add links etc. I'm wondering if I should do a tutorial on that. It's so much fun and it adds a variety to your blog. Thank you for your kind comment.

Benjamin: That is great news! I do work with buyers and sellers, as you know from our conversation I'm not an exclusive buyers agent. This year will bring much excitement to our market and our communities. Thank you for your support.

Kathy: It's great to see you visit more often again. I had missed you on my blog for a while and thought I scared you away. LOL You have been a great friend and wonderful support and I do agree, what a joy it is to see Linda visit. I don't want her to stop visiting at all. You have a wonderful weekend and thank you for all your support.

Julie, you must love to do these posts because you are so good at them.  I love the bear and fish.  Just too cute and I am shocked at the number for under contract...it says 434 that is huge!  Especially for January.  Wow!

This is just a really great post!  So creative.

Julie - I need to visit your posts more often because they are a plethora of information (we've just been swamped:)- Awesome Job! You certainly do raise the bar! These are THE cutest GRAPHICS- where do you get them ? also I think I asked once before - are those copy-scape labels free? or do you pay for that service?

If you have time I would appreciate the reply I feel like I am a student in your classroom sometimes - but you have taught so much here in the rain!

Thanks

Grace

Julie... what a great analogy... we are starting to see some bears come out of hibernation here too... This is a great piece and really shows that good things are happening in your area. To be number one in a poll is always good (especially when the lower the number the better!)
