The word logic by itself makes reference to to level of intelligence and aptitude a an agent may have a productive day and I will see you at closing! When it all comes down to the right thing its what is good for our client or customer. Not a dollar. Only makes sense that if we do out job right be deserve to get paid. Lately, I am a little taken back by some agents that are more interested in the dollar than what the real goal should be. After all, we got into real estate to make a difference with our buyers and or sellers.
It wasn't that long ago then we fought to put deal together but somehow history has faded and I ave agents asking abut commissions and bonuses. If you do your job right you deserve to get paid. Pretty logical. We deal with people and not numbers and we tend to forget that. Of course we have our goals and want to see a certain of amount of transactions but the dollars isn't earned until its closed. Kind of like the chicken and egg thing. So whether yu do 20 transactions or 130 transactions a year we deal with real life and people.
So maybe that code of ethics we adhere to means something and if we really do our job right we get praise and perhaps a referral. 28 years of doing this and I have seen many come and go. I'm proud that I care about my clients and I want the best for them. Perhaps a reminder to think about how things are getting good again. In the end we do what is best for our fiduciary, not our pocket book. In my market I have a lot of respect for pretty amazing agents and people like Sally Hanson, Kristin Johnson, and Lisa Bear. All top notch agents They get it.
