Did you know the average person reads less than 5 books per year! (according to Ask.com)? Considering all the avid bookworms out their and the resurgence of reading since the advent of the Kindle and other readers, that is a dismal statistic. Let's face it ...we are all busy with careers, family and other commitments. Even the most well intentioned of us fall short from time to time when it comes to getting that book read, sharpening the skills, learning a new language or whatever you want to learn. Many times I crack a book open and I almost instantly fall asleep...fade to black..good night. I have always availed myself of the Mobile University. Remember cassette tapes? I used to get all the books on tape I could find so I could learn while I was on the road. It was a great use of the time. Well cassettes have gone the way of the Dodo. Now with digital technology, IPods and smartphones, there is a whole new world of options open to us at the click of a download button open to us. Last year I heard about Audible.com. I was interested, subscribed to the basic service and I love it and I think you will too. You can make wish list, searches and sample books from dozens of genres
and hundreds of topics. I set a goal of 2 books a month...I blew that out of the water . I listen when I'm on the road, doing errands or on a flight or airport layovers. I usually mix it up with business books, best sellers, classics in literature, self help, and historical novels. The best part is you can revisit any selection as it is permanently downloaded to you account and computer. (I use my iTunes) Check it out, they frequently have membership specials and reward new customers with free book downloads and great sales opportunities. Happy Listening!
