Woods Canyon Lake trail is one of the most beautiful places to hike in the Apache & Sitgreaves National Forest and is easily accessible for beginners. The trail winds its way around the lake so it never gains much in elevation. However the thin air at 7500 ft atop the Mogollon Rim provides its own style of workout. The gorgeous views of the lake, wildlife, and the surrounding forest are well worth the trip! We'll stop along the way to eat before completing the loop. Bring plenty of water, snacks for the trail, and sun protection of some sort.
