What do you do with food stuff in a house that is closing?

Getting ready to close on a house today and there was food left in the cabinets that is unopened and bought recently.   There were canned goods, salt and pepper, oils, spices and other things that were perfectly good.

Do you think it is alright to give it to a food pantry, or church or salvation army to distribute to other that may be hungry.  I hate to just throw it away.

What would you do?

Hi Ginger...If the items are packaged and unopened they can be donated to a food bank. Otherwise throwing them away is about the only solution that I can think of. I'd go with your instinct. Donate.

If they haven't expired or are unopend check with a local food bank to see if they will take them.

Good morning Ginger. I hate that the food stuff was left but agree if they are unopened and within dates of freshness, donating is a good idea.

Ginger, We'll agree with the others.  Donation gets good use out of those items.
