Well, this corner retail space in the Rancho Bernardo Town Center used to be occupied by a "Baskin Robbins" and after that "Baja Fresh" took a try at this location, but those food concepts were nothing new. Rancho Bernardo residents have a mature palate, and they know what’s healthy and different. I would have to guess many have dined in the finest of places.
So, needless to say it was a pleasant dining experience to find “The Kebab Shop” opened for business in Rancho Bernado; according to their website, they have 6 locations in San Diego county now. Wow, and no wonder, what amazing yummy food they have! Trendy is not exactly what I would call it, but it’s the Mediterranean way of eating, which is what the media has been recommending Americans should eat for a longer healthier life in most recent articles.
I tried the lamb rotisserie plate, since it’s one of my favorite dishes in this cuisine and I chose to have some falafels on the side. It was plenty and enough for 2 meals, at least for me. My family had the chicken shawarma and they loved it as well. For those of you not familiar with what “shawarma” is? Well, it’s fluffy on the inside, crusty on the outside bread, and super fresh. They said it was the best bread they’ve tasted “ever”! So, the next time you’re looking for something different for lunch or dinner, you would really be doing yourself a favor by heading over to the Kebab Shop and sitting down for some yummy shawarma or falafels.
