What's a City Girl Like Me Doing in a Place Like This?
I grew up and spent my whole life in suburbs surrounding big cities or metropolitan areas. I never thought I could live in a small community such as Sedona. But here I am!
My biggest concern was, where in the heck were the shopping malls? Even more importantly, there were no NORDSTROM's. The nearest Nordstroms was two hours away. YIKES!
Once I started to realize that life goes on (barely) without Nordstroms, I started to enjoy the peace and quiet of my natural surroundings. Little did I know that there were all kinds of animals within a stone's throw of my house. I decided to share a few pics that both me and my husband have taken over the years. The two bobcats in the first picture are part of Sedona life. Mom was teaching them how to hunt and there was one more not in the picture. But the universe gave my husband the opportunity to capture these two bobcat kittens in a playful mood and then this miracle of photography happened before his eyes.
Here are a sample of more pictures
Javelina - These are not in the hog or pig family. They are related to Hippos!
During mating season this toad makes a sound that is unbelievable!
All these pictures were taken from our backyard by either me or my husband. The lone exception is the Cardinal that is perched with the red rocks in the background. I wake up every morning and can't wait to see what nature will bring me that day!
