Let me count the ways...

With 60.7% of adult residents (25 and older) holding an associate degree or higher, and 52.8% of adults possessing a baccalaureate degree or higher (2000 Census), Parkland is the best educated city in Florida and faring pretty well nationwide with those numbers.

The estimated median household income for Parkland in 2005 was $114,900 per Citidata.com ($102,624 in 2000 US Census Bureau) where the state of Florida was at $42,433.  I guess being smart pays.  The majority of men have jobs in the professional, scientific, and technical services.  Many are able to work from home and enjoy Parkland's fabulous golf courses, hence giving Parkland the nickname "The City of Relaxation."  Those residents who do find themselves driving to work have less than a 30 minute commute on average.

And crime, well, there just isn't that much.  Parkland is serious about crime.  CityData.com shows the US average crime index at 254.4 while Parkland is keeping it clean at only 109.6.  There is only 1 registered sex offender in Parkland out of a population of approximately 23,000.

Did you say Opie?  Married couples make up 78% of them and 57.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them.  72% of Parkland's population is under 44 years old.   Smart people have good schools.  Parkland's schools are A-rated.

And last, but surely NOT LEAST if you have any interest in the Florida real estate tax situation, City Adopts 14% DROP In Millage Rate And Does Not Raise Fire Assessment FeeOn September 24th the City Commission gave approval to a 14% reduction in the millage rate from last year. In addition, the City's fire assessment will not be increasing after all. As part of the property tax reform cuts mandated by the State, the City Commission originally planned on increasing the City's fire assessment by $30.00 per single family household. However, during the budget process, the City Commission found the money necessary to balance the City's budget without an increase in the fire assessment by decreasing the scope of a capital improvement project. The City is one of the few municipalities in Broward County that is not raising its fire assessment fee this year. Maybe some of the other cities that are crying about having to cut essential services should hire the "smart" Parkland officials as consultants!

This city keeps it clean and does it right!  It's 7 square miles has been meticulously maintained with many laws to preserve it's "parklike" character and rural mystique.  It is the perfect marriage of Sophistication and Simplicity.

The residents of Parkland may be too kind to say they are pretty smart or maybe they just don't have to...the city of Parkland speaks for itself.  If you are interested in finding out more about Parkland you may call Solid Rock Realty Services, your Boutique Realty Company with Concierge Services, at 954-290-2772.
