And last, but surely NOT LEAST if you have any interest in the Florida real estate tax situation, City Adopts 14% DROP In Millage Rate And Does Not Raise Fire Assessment Fee. On September 24th the City Commission gave approval to a 14% reduction in the millage rate from last year. In addition, the City's fire assessment will not be increasing after all. As part of the property tax reform cuts mandated by the State, the City Commission originally planned on increasing the City's fire assessment by $30.00 per single family household. However, during the budget process, the City Commission found the money necessary to balance the City's budget without an increase in the fire assessment by decreasing the scope of a capital improvement project. The City is one of the few municipalities in Broward County that is not raising its fire assessment fee this year. Maybe some of the other cities that are crying about having to cut essential services should hire the "smart" Parkland officials as consultants!
This city keeps it clean and does it right! It's 7 square miles has been meticulously maintained with many laws to preserve it's "parklike" character and rural mystique. It is the perfect marriage of Sophistication and Simplicity.
