Fresh Asian vegetables can be purchased on both Saturdays and Sundays at the Wagon Wheel Flea Market in Pinellas Park Florida and that was our destination today!
I wanted some litchi nuts, dragonfruit, mangoes, watermelon, peaches and garlic. Ronnie was looking for a back-up fishing hat.
It is always a treat to go to the Wagon Wheel Flea Market since there are so many Asian veggies and fruits that you cannot purchase in the regular supermarket or farmer's market.
Rather than going to an Asian grocery store, you can get these items much cheaper at the flea market.
Today we watched people peeling bamboo and selling the strips that can be used to make soup. There were also plenty of coconuts with part of the top cut off and straws in them. It was a hot day, so they were selling plenty of these delicious coconuts for people to drink the milk.
Naturally, there is also an abundance of fish being sold. Packed on ice and waiting to be sold, you can find many varieties of fresh fish as well as really large shrimp, squid, muscles and other delicacies.
If you are coming to purchase fish or other seafood, be sure to bring a cooler and some ice or ice packs, so you can keep it cool while transporting!
Make the Wagon Wheel Flea Market on Park Avenue in Pinellas Park Florida your weekend destination for a fantastic selection of Asian and American vegetables and fruits! Wear comfortable shoes since there is a lot of walking involved! It is a large flea market!!
