Wolverine Sighting in Graham!

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Keller Williams Realty

We had a rare sighting the other day while driving my daughter to school.  Up ahead in the ditch I saw  an odd looking critter running about, of course as I approached, the fool thing ran into the road!  I was able to get the pickup stopped before I ran this mystery animal over.  As it continued across the road I realized that I was looking at a wolverine!

I watched her run around in some one's front yard for a minute or so and then she high tailed it back into the woods.

Wolverines are not exactly common to the area, in fact this is the first one I've ever seen outside of a zoo.  Upon returning home, I called up our local wildlife park, and asked if they had all their wolverines accounted for.  Indeed they did, but they were aware of a "facility" near by that had recently misplaced their wolverine.

All's well that ends well, The wandering wolverine was successfully captured a few days later and returned to her home.

What the heck does this have to do with real estate?  Nothing, But my daughter and I will always have the memory of the day we saw a wolverine on the way to school.

We have problems with Wolverines here but they are a different kind... U of M OSU rivalry.

I don't think I would know a real Wolverine if I saw one.

Doesn't matter if it is not real estate Brett, this was Localism, Brett.

Your story reminds me of something that happened to me about 30 years ago. Kind of a twilight zone story! A friend of mine and I were traveling in the early morning hours to Dallas Texas ftom Lubbock. He was asleep and I started seeing these little furry things running across the road. There were so many I woke him up and asked what they were. Wouldn't you know it he didn't see any and told me I was seeing thing and to pull over while he drove. So I did and we exchanged places. So I shut my eyes and tryed to get some sleep. The next thing I know he's yelling he's seeing little furry things run across the road! He slowed down and we kept watching and all of a sudden a bunch of TARANTULAS ran across the road. Seems that they come out on the highway at night because the pavement is so warm. Gave me the creepies thinking that we actually stopped and got out of the car to change places!

We have a bobcat in my back yard that is usually staring at my house, licking his chops, waiting for my little dog to go out for a whiz.  Bobcat bait.

Ah, but wolverines DO have something to do with real estate. Some people like seeing deer and anteloupe play, and some people never tire of the dolphin shows off their dock. It's part of the lifestyle.

More and more we are seeing animals in area they shouldn't be.  Could this be result of man's destroying their nature habitat?

Sharon, I guess you are right on!  They day I decided to make an offer on the home I now live in, I saw a huge 4 point blacktail buck in the back pasture.  I'm pretty sure the listing agent must have rented the deer for the showing because I never saw that deer after closing!  LOL

 Wildlife staging....Now there's a niche market!
