ActiveRain just released a bunch of fixes today without any downtime to you. Our mission is to make your life easier and keep this platform running the very best we know how.
There's a process that happens when something is broken on AR. A staff member finds it or has it brought to our attention by one of you. We quickly create a ticket in our BugTracker system and the IT team is immediately notified. Sometimes I think, can't they just fix it real quick? But it doesn't work like that. They have to carve out the time to work on it, research the problem, find the fix and implement it. Then we have testing, quality assurance (QA) and more testing before they can close out a ticket. Our releases are happening every 3-4 weeks and depending on how much time our IT team has, is how many fixes we'll see. The IT team stresses major QA because in the past, fixing something without it, causes something else in the 'Rain to break. And we just can't have that! So again, and always, thank you for your patience with us while we work the process and get things running again smoothly.
Here are a few that made it in today's release:
Borders - This one affected many of you and we apologize for the work arounds. You can now add and save borders on your photos once again.
Feature Contests - All current/featured contests will now display when clicking 'Resources' -> 'Contests.'
Profile Pictures - Photos under 600x600 can once again be uploaded. Also, profile pictures should now be displaying correctly in the Daily Drop.
Mobile Access - The 500 Internal Server Error stemming from accessing AR on a mobile device has been fixed.
Community Page Images - The images that were not displaying correctly will now do so.
Discard Draft Confirmation - It was a bit too easy to discard a draft so we've added a confirmation click to make sure you really want to get rid of that blog post. We've moved the button up just a tad to make sure you don't accidentally click it when hitting an icon in the tool bar.
Follow - You may have noticed awhile back we changed 'Subscribe' to 'Follow.' As the world changes, so do we. We missed a few spots and have updated all Subscribe/Subscribers to Follow/Followers.
New Profile Pages Coming Soon!
If you haven't heard yet, AR is going to be releasing new profile pages in August. They look HOT and are very customizable. I can't tell you how many meetings and experts have been brought in to make sure the calls to action and layout best captures the leads that come across your page. IT has been working tirelessly on these pages and I just can't wait for the roll-out!
