You’ve seen signs and posters hanging around town, you’ve browsed online advertising, schedules and lineups, you pass people in the street with their ‘fringe on’, and, are wondering, just what is the Kansas City Fringe Festival all about?
Continuing now through July 28th, 2013, in a nutshell, this ninth rendition of the Kansas City Fringe Festival is a celebration of local, regional, and national talent in a number of venues throughout Kansas City. Numerous live performances include theater, dance, performance art, visual art, spoken word, puppetry, storytelling, film and fashion.
Why Fringe? According to the festival website:
“Fun! The festival develops audiences, stimulates economic growth and supports the creative community at large. By making the arts readily visible, available and affordable, the festival supports and inspires local organizations year-round. The KC Fringe Festival is a service to the community, building bridges between audiences, artists, businesses and civic organizations.”
