CORONA REAL ESTATE LISTINGS JUMP NEARLY 28 PERCENT IN JUNE 2013

The number of homes for sale in Corona, California jumped 27.8% between the end of May and June 2013. However, the year over year listing stats still reflect a drop of more than 24%, and the lack of Corona real estate inventory continues to drive home prices upward. Another factor driving the increase in prices is the major decline in distressed sales. Compared to June of last year, foreclosure listings fell 29.4% and short sale listings have plummeted over 84%.

Pending home sales showed very little change month over month, but dropped by 46.2%, when comparing June 2013 to one year earlier. This drastic change was inevitable, given the incredibly low inventory level of available homes for sale in Corona.

Closed real estate transactions fell on a month over month and year to year basis, which was to be expected; with real estate listings decreasing in 13 out of the past 18 months, the sales stats had nowhere to go but down. Although sales figures dropped, in June of 2013, the majority of the real estate sales in Corona closed at or above the original list price.
