Settlement Room was Sold?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with The Virtual Link

I must of missed something somewhere.  I just heard that SettlementRoom was sold about a month ago. Has anyone heard anything about this?  We think it was sold to Emphasystems but I can't find anything on the actual sale to verify that.  Has anyone else heard about this or have any additional information?

Sorry for the confusions.  Settlement Room is an online real estate software for listing and
transaction management.  It's used by agents and their virtual assistants.  www.SettlementRoom.com

Anna-  I just went into my account and didn't see any mention of any change. I looked through their press releases and they don't mention any change of ownership. Let us know if you hear any more about it.

Settlement Room was sold to another company - I'm not sure who shortly after we decided to do business with them.  We purchased our transactions under the context that they don't have an expiration date. When the new company took over they changed the rules and decided they do expire and wants us to pay a monthly charge to continue using the transactions we have already paid for.  This company is a joke and I strongly recommend everyone to go somewhere else!  I'm trying to tell everyone

DO NOT USE SETTLEMENT ROOM

We are considering Settlement Room.  After this comment from Meridith Hanson I am concerned.  I guess i dont understand the fee structure.  WHat do you mean and transaction expires?

I work with a technology company that offers a web-based transaction management system similar to Settlement Room -- better, in my opinion   :)

If inbound calls are any indication, then Settlement Room is losing lots of customers due to the changes they have made in their pricing and their offering.  I suggest you look around and find an alternative system....

Being that I have been forced out of my Escrow Industry after 30 + years of service, I am now considering becoming a TC and if anyone can refer me to any kind of TC software that may be available I would appreciate it very much.   Thanks

SettlementRoom was acquired by Emphasys Software (www.emphasysrre.com) a few years ago. They manage multiple real estate software solutions for brokers and agents, including AgentOffice.com.

Emphasys Software did change the pricing structure of SettlementRoom to a monthly subscription shortly after acquiring it. For my particular business, this works just fine since the actual cost per transaction is now lower for us. You can use your transcations for an entire year- we started on the $35/month plan and have subseqently increased our plan as our business grows.

SettlementRoom may not be for everyone- if you're an agent doing only a few transactions a month, there is probably a more suitable software solution for you.
