Looking in the rear view mirror provides interesting perspective, occasional regret and a chuckle or two. When one reaches a pivotal turning point both personally and professionally... coming Full Circle can be music to one's ears.
I'm a huge music lover. Rarely does a moment go by that I'm not listening to music or humming a tune. I used to embarrass my kids by humming the Carpenter's "Top of The World' song while strolling down the aisles at the grocery store (don't ask me why that song comes to mind). They were mortified as I happily hummed along ;-)
This past week, one of my favorite jazz guitarists, Lawson Rollins, introduced his new CD, Full Circle. No two words are more apropos in summing up my existence this past year. The individual song titles on this album are quite fitting and entertaining too... 'Momentum, Point of Attraction, Pursuit, Flight, Horizon, Bloom, Full Circle, Serpents Tale, The Offering, Gone From Here, Shifting Seasons, and Promise.'
Is Lawson Rollins a mind-reader? Perhaps not, although his music is certainly food for the soul. I wasted no time downloading the entire album from iTunes to enjoy on my next road trip.
Having come full circle... the future looks bright. Perhaps now I'll be humming a tune that's easier on the ears (for my kid's sake), played by an exquisitely talented guitarist who is also easy on the eyes ;-) Thanks Lawson!
