Within minutes, a lightning strike turned a quiet neighborhood in to a super-erratic-siren-screaming-scenario in order to tackle the task at hand. Just up the road from our home, a raging fire threatened to overtake the entire countryside but thanks to the quick repsonse of emergency personnel on the ground and in the sky, its efforts were somewhat thwarted!

THANK YOU FIREFIGHTERS! Your expertise is indeed appreciated to help prevent the CHOKING, SMOKING, DAMAGING EFFECTS OF A WILDFIRE!

 

 

 

I just found out the fire is not contained and has now burned over 130 acres. I am in hopes that some rain will help the firefighter's efforts. Praying for relief!

 

UPDATE: According to the St. George News online, there are now 430 acres that have burned -0% containment.

You must have a great crew of people to fight these fires. We do, too. It's all volunteer, but those guys are amazing. I'm glad this didn't turn into something bigger.

Debbie, It is still burning but not at the rate it was last night, thankfully! I am hoping for rain today, without the lightning preferably.

Wanda-I am so glad to hear the firefighters got this under control quickly. An out of control fire can be scary and devastating.  Glad to know you are safe.

Mary, A quick response makes a difference and we have several fire stations in the area and Color Country Interagency fire units are on site.

Debbie, So very THANKFUL for those who step up, they are heroes!
