I love this post....Great reminder to "bless" a homeless pet and add life to your house.

Our local SPCA in Sacramento - adds hats, bowties, sweaters, and more to their list of Dogs and then photos for a flyer.

Very creative and gets the animals homes too

I see these kinds of campaigns from time to time. We have a rescue cat and dog and will do it again in the future. Nice job sharing about this one with all of us.

Bless you for spreading the word. My inn is full. We just took in another abandoned pet. I hope the shelter adopts out a lot of older animals.

Keep spreading the word... it breaks my heart that so many animals are left abandoned.

We have a shelter closing nearby and they are trying to get all of these animals homes... young and older.  It is a sad situation!  K

Sussie,

I can't think of anyone I know in my area with pets who didn't adopt them. There are so many advantages to adopting a family pet. And with al the flooding and strange things happening all around the country, I'm sure there's a greater need to adopt now more than ever.

I like that you have a compassionate heart.

Sussie, your a wonderful advocate for our four legged friends, seems like every city is just overwhelmed by all the cats and dogs in our shelters. Your a wonderful person to get the word out in your community. Best Wishes...

Sussie, Thanks for blogging about adopting an adult pet as unfortunately  all too many never end up in a home.

Michelle.. Yes they do that at some of the animal shelters in the area too.

Joe! I am so happy that you have taken two of these animals into your home.

Thanks Barbara... I feel so sad when I drive past knowing what will happen if they don't get adopted.

Patrick! So good to see you again! I want to adopt a big dog but I need to put up a fence in the back yard first.

Debbie.... me too my friend ... me too!

Kathy... yes me too I want to cry every time I drive past these places.

Kathy Showe... I hope they get the majority adopted out.

Patricia... I wish more people would have their pets fixed ASAP. This way there would be way less to find homes for.

Bob... I use to have to read the reports from the animal shelter concerning the numbers of euthanized animals the summer time numbers are staggering.

Robert... Yes many don't make it out of the shelter.

Thanks Yolanda! I hope you have a great weekend too.

Susie-Adopting an adult pet is good on so many levels. To bad there are so many careless owners who fail to take care of their pets and abandon them.
