Where has the year gone? I have to apologize.....for my distance over the last months.
My life as normal has been a little bit crazy......Of course with the Feds hint in the possibility of tapering of bond purchases soon, some of the craziness has been work related because of the rates moving higher in a short amount of time. I was out in Vegas in June at a seminar and had the opportunity to see Tony Robbins speak again. Inspirational to help get through the craziness. Again, thank you Steven Marshall for putting together an amazing seminar.
So after I got home, I had to start locking in buyers and of course trying to help my refinance borrowers as they had been sitting on the fence, assuming that rates would go down....Even as I have talked to them about the possibility that rates were low and were going to move up. they did.... a lot faster that I think anyone imagined. The Feds got the rates where they wanted them...the only problem was they got there in about 3 weeks instead of the 18 months they were planning on.
Then of course, there is my sons. Evan my younger son played rec baseball and had a blast. he is getting ready for football.....his true love.....Then there is Trey, my older son, has been a part of an amazing baseball program that was created by a former Big league player, who has a purpose of teaching the kids to play baseball the right way. Steve Hazlett created a company Pro Swing which is as good a baseball program that I have ever been associated with. And as being a former college player, he asked me to be a coach of Trey's program. Of course I had to talk to Trey to get his acceptance of me coaching.
With the father/son coaching dynamic, unless he was open to me coaching him, I would not accept the amazing offer.
Well, he graciously wanted me to coach. So I am. After starting winter workouts in November, we are now at the end of our season with the AAYBA world series in Arvada. So far this season we have played in about 12 tournaments, including one the first week of July in Reno/Tahoe4 against some amazing teams from around the country. A great opportunity for the boys to see what Real baseball is all about.
The transformation that I have seen in my kids from November to where they are today (4-0, and the #1 seed, playing today to get into the championship) is amazing. But I have also seen them grow, mature and totally adopt the practice routine, that is making them extremely solid fundamentally.
And as I watch them, I am inspired my them to implement a similar routine into my business practices so that I can become even more solid and fundamentally sound.
Wow.....I have learned so much from my kids......I guess I need to thank them for helping me become a better person. So cool!
