This house has it all. From the great layout "flow" of the house, the two decks for entertaining, including one that is a private deck just for the master bedroom, and the yard that opens up to Lake Monona, you can't go wrong with this place. Don't forget, this house comes with its own boat launch and pier, so outdoor activities are boundless, in addition to being directly on a bike path!

About the Waunona Way Community

The Waunona way community is spearheaded by their community group, Waunona Way Neighborhood Association. They are the ones that bring up issues relating to current neighborhood issues, community events like beach cleanup day, or neighborhood garage sale weekend, and many more. They try to build cohesion of their neighborhood through communication and proactivity.

We've reached out to the Association for a more updated and extensive explanation of their goals, and are waiting to hear back from them. We will update this post with that information once it is received.

What does the owner have to say about the house and neighborhood?

We reached out to the owner, Marlene, to see what she had to say about Waunona way, she gave us some great "memories" of the area:

My favorite memories from my 39 years at Waunona Way.

  • Playing frisbee in the shallow water with the boys.

  • Teaching them how to drive a boat, to water ski, to swim.

  • Going through the locks to have dinner at the Edgewater.

  • Going by boat to the Elks club for Friday night fish fry and not having to worry about the drive home or parking

  • Going by boat to Christie's on Waubesa street for dinner, or to the Green Lantern both of which have piers.

  • Watching the sun travel its path to the summer equinox and then retreating to winter sunsets.

  • Watching storm clouds coming in from the north and west.

  • Having wine and snacks with friends on the deck.

  • Having friends come over by boat to go for a ride around the lakes.

  • And coming soon will the Fourth of July fireworks to be held on Lake Monona.  What a chance to see everything from the deck.
