Alive & Kickin'...

      It has oft been said, real estate is local. And, the Nashville, TN market has been anything but lame. It seems as if we transitioned from a buyer's market into a seller's market almost overnight.
      I know that it has been quite some time since I have been here on Active Rain. No good excuse other than having to seek priorities and leverage the best use of the 24 hours that I have been given.
        Currently, the company has been averaging over 90 inspections a month. This volume has been keeping John, Patrick and me hopping. I made the decision a few weeks back to hire an admin person whom I will start training Monday. Needless to say, I have piled a little more on my plate but soon, once up to speed, Jane will take a lot off my shoulders so I can focus more on marketing and bringing another inspector to the team. My goal is to average 130 inspections a month.
      The personal growth I am going through is absolutely wonderful. For the first time in years, I finally feel that I now am beginning to own a business instead of the 4 letter word spelled J-O-B!! I will be in Columbus, OH the middle of next month to meet with my peers and get more training on business growth and development. It will be 3 intense days which often leaves my brain feeling overloaded.

I will do my best to frequent AR and make comments on posts by my AR friends. I do miss all of you and miss the interaction. I am looking forward to when I can spend more time. Until then, know that all of you are in my thoughts...

Michael - I finally got around to your July posting and I'm glad to know you're Alive & Kicking but holy cow you made me think a lot today of just how important a Home Inspector is to the Real Estate Industry and when there's a shift into a Seller's Market you are the oil that makes the economy turn out smoothly.

I had to click SUGGEST because I believe this post of yours was overlooked. I don't know how much credit people give to a Home Inspector. There's a lot of talk and credit give to Lenders and the REALTORS but the Home Inspector is the one who can make or break a deal. It is the Home Inspector who can not schedule an appointment 3 weeks from today; then cancel at the last minute. Truly, "Time is of the essence"! It's the Home Inspector who is crawling up into the attic or down into a basement or crawl space, into tight places, putting his own life in danger while finding safety hazards and addressing these issues with the consumers and then it's up to the Sellers to decide whether or not they will, should or could fix what needs to be fixed.

A FIRE FIGHTER is the Hero of the Community when it comes to putting out fires. It's the HOME INSPECTOR who is my Hero when it comes to selling Real Estate.
