When "A View" is on your Must Have List

Buying a home in Denver or surrounding areas, you will find some homes with a view of the mountains. Some have a partial view, some have a view from Pikes Peak to Boulder view. This is a common request especially when someone has moved from an area without mountains.

Currently in Aurora there 76 homes with the description of "View Mountains" ranging from a townhome at $129,900 up to $705,000 in Blackstone. Some have photos in MLS of the views, some don't. How much of a view would you like? Purchasing a home in Aurora, you will have more of a panoramic view versus purchasing in Lakewood or Green Mountain when you are closer to the mountains.

There are listings you will get a glimpse of the mountains, and on a cloudy, rainy day you won't see them.

Would you mind a few power lines to have this full view of the mountains?

In the winter months you may have better views when you can see through the trees without leaves.

Nice post Joan. There are compromises to be made for getting those great views. Oftentimes it is the sales price has a price bump for the view. That doesn't bother some folks if that is what they are buying for.

This is a common WISH LIST item, and one buyer I had a few years ago HAD to have spectacular views, and they got them from every floor. They have a panoramic mountain view from their walk-out basement, and the higher in the home you go, the better the views!

Joan easy to see why views would play an important roll in the home buying process in Denver. Here in Ct it tends to be part of the consideration to purchase on the shore, but in land it seems to be less of a factor.

I can not imagine living without a view. Right now we have a golf course view. Not liking it too much. Those mountains sure look like they would change every single day of the year and entertain with magnificent views.

I can totally see the importance of really discussing what mountain views mean to a particular set of buyers. Often listing descriptions are extremely generous in what they consider a view, if there are pictures of mountain views than you know what to expect, no pictures has to be a signal that maybe the views are not really there.
