Moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the near future? We welcome you and your children with open arms. Sometimes moving can be a hassle, but it doesn't has to be. This is why I have put together some information to help you. One of the most important things when buying a home is the school district and daycares. Here is some information for you on finding a daycare and also, a list of daycares in and around Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Where do I start when looking for a good quality daycare?

1. Research - This is the imperative to finding a good daycare. Treat it as if you  are  job hunting, or better yet- treat it like you are interviewing and employee for hire.

 a) Go online and look around. Many daycares have a website. This way you can get a feel for it. Also, the
National Association of Family Child Care is a good place to start. They have guidelines and contact info.

b) Word Of Mouth- This is the best way. Ask around. Ask other parents. Going straight to the source will
will make it easier to decide which daycare to choose.

c) Phone Book- All daycares are listed in the phone book. This would be a last resort.

2) Visit Daycares - Once you have weeded out others, choose a few you would like to visit. Any credible daycare
should not have a problem with you wanting to stop by.

3) Check References- This is word of mouth, also. Ask around. Talk to parents that have children in the daycare. Go to the Deparment of Social Services to get the real beef on the daycare.

4)Test it out- Try to set aside a day to spend with your child at the daycare. Take notes and see how the adapt to their surroundings. Make sure your child feels comfortable at the daycare.
