Good old Yogi Berra. He sure had it right on this one "When you get to the fork in the road, take it."
Just read a interesting blog by my friend Kristal Kraft (http://activerain.com/krisk) in Colorado. She provided a lot of good advice to those who have opted to get into the business of real estate sales. There is no doubt that a "rookie" in this business can gain as much appreciation for the business as a rookie in baseball can gain from a real veteran like Yogi Berra.
If you heed what Kristal has said you will surely identify a need to develop a system in your business. Note that I did not say buy a system. Get yourself into a routine (call it system if you like) with the way you conduct your business. Follow the guidelines she presented or develop your own. Implement what you develop. Follow your system. If you come to another fork, take it and follow that route. Adjust when necessary and continue down the road you have chosen. When you get to another fork in the road . . .
There are lots of expensive programs you can purchase and there are some free seminars for you to attend. Unfortunately, I did not attend any of them when I was a rookie. Wish I had; I would have done it all a lot differently had I followed the procedures and techniques of someone like Howard Brinton "from the get go."
Just some ideas from an old man who would do it differently the next time.
