You will find groups around Tulsa this Friday that are helping out with school supplies for families who are in need. Even though the tax free holiday weekend will help many families, there are still many more who will need this additional help. Around 26,000 children will get supplies from PASS this year. So, look for local organizations and churches that are helping with supplies near you.

Free dental exams for children

Several local dentists are offering free dental exams for elementary age children that are heading back to school. You will find many dentists in and around Tulsa who are participating in these free examinations. So far, a steady stream of children are already get their exams and leaving with bright toothbrushes, floss and balloons.

Oklahoma Insurance Department Recovery Roundup

The Oklahoma Insurance Department will be hosting a Recovery Roundup in Moore, OK. The state insurance department is having this event to help central Oklahoma residents deal with any insurance issues they are having due to recent severe storms.

The roundup will be held August 17th at South Moore High School. Officials will meet with anyone who is still experiencing issues with their insurance company. All the major insurance companies have been invited to answer questions and address unsolved issues.

J. David Jewelry coming to Tulsa

J. David Jewelry will be expanding into Tulsa, OK. They currently have a location in Broken Arrow, OK. The new store will be located at 8022 E. 101st St., which is right next to the CVS pharmacy. They will be opening in the near future with a start of eight new full-time and part-time employees. Until then, you can find the Broken Arrow location at 613 N. Aspen Ave.
