I remember a CitiBank ad that read, "Invest in the occasional Get-Happy-Quick Scheme."  It featured a guy holding a dozen or so balloons on an elevator.

For my own Valentine's Day gift to myself, I was thinking about getting a humidifier.  I actually need one (th e gift is just a nice way to put it lol) because my studio had a former cat owner and I am deathly allergic.  My antihistamine drowsiness is killing my productivity!  Or so it seems.  Anyway, I hate clunky, bulky, unattractive appliances/gizmos.  (Read:  It's taking me a while to find a humidifier that I actually want to invest in!)  I also care about the energy efficiency and cost factor, fyi (not all vanity!).

Whilst in search of the perfect one (suggestions welcome), I've decided to spend some money (foolish, I know) on two high fashion frying pans, which I don't really need! Below left is the SILVER style; PEACOCK on right. Yummy.  On sale for $12.99, it's a total GHQS!

But boy are these DY-NO-MITE!  Scramble those eggs or smack that sucka' in style!  Check it out at one of my fave places to catch a sale, UrbanOutfitters.com. (Pics link to product page)

Debra--Cool huh?  I'm such a design fan...and I've got limited kitchen space, so to be able to display some pots/pans like this, makes sense for me!

Audrey, I just read this to the dear hubby and even he got quite a chuckle. Then he said, "What does that have to do with home staging?" I laughed and said, "Well, hum, uh . . .oh yeah! This post is about the stager, not staging. As a matter of fact, it is quite a way to show that this young gal would be so fun to work with." You and I could be like Marci and Tanya trying to decide whether to stuff the rooster or the chef.

Audrey- I'm sensing you're a girly-girl, like myself! Not that I have time to golf anymore, but my putter has little flowers painted on it! Love the idea of taking something so hum-drum as a frying pan, and turning it into a work of art! Takes the sting out of buying a boring old humidifier!

Debra--I live for the chuckles :)  I loved that post too, the rooster or the chef....hmm...getting some ideas....

Elaine--Next time I'm in CO, you have to teach me how to golf!  Everyone tells me I should learn.  Why they want me wielding a club, I dunno....but yeah, life's too short to not have some fun in the commonplace.  Speaking of common, that's what "vulgar" is translated from in Latin!  Unique is where it's at!  Oh, and my mom got me a flower print hammer and screwdriver set.  Mind you, they are kinda small and more for show (I am into the power tools these days!) but adorable.

Audrey, when we lived in Colorado we had a humidifier put on the furnace and wow what a difference that made.  The wonderful thing about that is you can't see it.  They are kind of ugly otherewise.

Now living in Houston a humidifier is the last thing we need although it does keep the skin smooth which is not a bad thing.  I highly recommend getting that humidifier; it will make a huge difference (even if it isn't pretty.)

Ah, we need dehumidifiers here in A-town, most of the time.    What about one of those tall air filters you can easily pop in a corner?  They are about the height of a CD tower.  OK, not the most attractive pieces but not completely offensive either.

AH, Urban Outfitters...I used to love popping into their store in the Village when I went to FIT...cool stuff.  We have Anthropologie....love 'em for inspiration...

Abby--I went to Drexel up in Philly, headquarters of UO & Anthropologie; even lived in Rittenhouse Square for a bit, and had both landmark stores within a block of home!  Isn't there an UO at Lennox Square?  Thought I had been there...

nice pans - are you afraid cooking with them will ruin the bottom?

Margaret--Thanks again. And again. And again.

Thesa--Well, Thesa, it's confession time:  I'm no Emeril.  Not even Rachel Ray.  And certainly not Martha Stewart.  The mileage these babies will be seeing is like the Sunday driver lol.  Okay, I DO cook, but they won't be seeing daily wear so I hope they still look good for a long time....and did I mention it doubles as a weapon?? Oops, delete, delete...

Ah hah!!!  Well, it's just sometimes when we are tired and can't think the silly things come to mind.  Have a good hiatus from serious...fun post.

Marchel--Googlin' away, reading up on various humidifiers now...do you recommend any?

Terrylynn--Reminds me of a quote from the pilot episode of the TV sitcom, Psych.  A detective told the "psychic" that he lived in the "gray area."  His response was along the lines of, "No, but I tend to vacation there."    :)
