Our youngest son turns 18 today. How many ways do we love him?
1. A tow-headed baby who instantly grabbed our hearts and squeezed when born.
2. Who showed an independent streak soon after by feeding himself and giving up the bottle before he was 8 months old.
3. He gave us a scare by having lung surgery at a year old.
4. Was a two-fisted eater. One just wouldn't do for this little guy.
5. Has always smiled more on the inside, except for special occasions, like a monkey balloon hat!
6. Enjoyed playing by himself as much as he did with others. More by himself.
7. Was a Lego-maniac and loved it when I joined him to play and to see his latest creations.
8. Excelled at sports and played them all, baseball, soccer, football and wrestling.
9. Loved to jump on the trampoline and yell, "Look mom!" And of course, I did!
10. Helped with chores around the house when asked and paid attention to detail.
11. He is honest, outspoken, fearless and thinks for himself. Those are amazing qualities!
12. He is an animal lover and has been known at the 'Cat Whisperer' of the family.
13. Accepts everyone from any and all walks of life and can read people by looking at their eyes.
14. Has always been a mediator with his friends and possesses the ability to calm them down.
15. Has a postive outlook on life and welcomes change as just another challenge to meet head on.
16. Being around him has always been a pleasure even through some family trials we have faced.
17. Graduated with a 3.5 from high school in May 2013, making us so very proud!
18. Spensyr is a gift. We are lucky that God gave him to us to enrich our lives, to teach us how to be a better parents, make us laugh and to grow and expand our heart capacity every day.
We are truly blessed to have such a fine son who has just committed himself to a military life in the Navy and his dad couldn't be prouder of his choices right now at this time in his life. We love you so much more than words can say.
