Hillsdale New Jersey - Then and Now
For our Historical Photo post today we wanted to show you how the town of Hillsdale has not changed too too much throughout the years.
Below are two postcards that are not dated but we would "guestimate" them to be from around the 1930's or 40's? Possibly?
They are not dated and are courtesy of PVPhotobase.org

Modern Day:
As you can see the traffic booth has been moved out from the center of the street onto the sidewalk area now. Bob's grandfather had a hand in the building of this iconic figure in the center of town. He was an architectural consultant with John Olley who actually built the police booth.
And another angle form back then.

Many do not know this but the sidewalks in the front of the stores in Hillsdale were boardwalks until they made concrete sidewalks.
You can almost see them in this shot.
Many years later it doesn't look like the downtown area stores have changed too much.
The architectural integrity remains along with the small hometown feel. There are just different stores occupying the store fronts.
And another angle.
The circle on the bottom left of this shot above, shows where the Traffic Booth stood previously.
That's our pictorial history lesson/post for today on my hometown of Hillsdale New Jersey
Hillsdale New Jersey - Then and Now
This shot above was from around 1987 and I can't seem to remember where I found it but it is of the center of town on a foggy morning.
Below is how it current looks.
Hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for stopping by.
