TEN THINGS FROM THE PAST
Just when I was wondering what new contest would be announced I read Margaret Rome's entry for a fun one. What We Have in Common, Getting to Know Each Other Better is the contest and I hope to see you all enter.

I don't like the word stupid (it makes me cringe) and never let my children use it (at least not in front of me and hopefully not behind my back...That still goes.
-
I took woodworking in high school. I had actually signed up to take auto mechanics when I was 16 and had gotten my license. Thought it would be helpful but as I was considered to be of the wrong gender (FEMALE!!!) I was not allowed. Instead they told me I could take woodworking where I made a table without any nails or screws (pegs only) and a couple of other smaller projects. Never learned much about cars.
-
Won a trip for two to Hawaii and had to leave immediately. We did and had a wonderful week.
-
I was born a feminist.
-
My first brand new car was a 1959 Black Beetle with very light gray leather interior and a manual sunroof. Fun car.
-
Went flying off a motorcycle and, of course, lived to tell about it.
-
Saw Orcas swimming freely in Antarctica. It's the very best way to see them.
-
First vehicle I drove was a tractor and that was when I was 12 years old (without permission).
-
Took my first plane ride (Miami to New York) in 1957. Never thought I would do it as I was afraid of heights.
- Was part of a hot air balloon crew and went up in it (unexpectedly) during the Great Lift Off in Albuqurque, New Mexico.
It's amazing that once you start reminiscing you remember all kinds of things. Hope you do too and will share them with us.
