Boothbay Harbor Maine26th Great Inland Seafood Festival August 8-11 2013 in Newport Kentucky

It's almost time for the Great Inland Seafood Festival in Newport Kentucky!  While the scenes on the Ohio River won't look like the scenes from Boothbay Harbor Maine on the right, the locals here will be enjoying the product of those Maine lobstermen!  10,000 Maine lobsters will be trucked in for the Great Inland Seafood Festival and for $10.95 you can claim one of them as your own!  The event is hosted on the Newport Kentucky side of the Ohio River, so enjoy the Cincinnati skyline as you're munching on crabs, shrimp, oysters and much more!  And a warning, 10,000 lobsters will NOT last the entire festival, so if you show up late Sunday, don't be surprised if lobster will NOT be on your plate!

There will also be 15 local restaurants will be doing their best seafood dishes, so you're going to be conflicted with just what to have!

And in addition to the food, there will be plenty of live entertainment at the Great Inland Seafood Festival too!  Other than the occasional 1/2 hour set change, there will be live bands the entire festival.

The event itself is free, but of course the food and drinks are going to cost you!  Plenty of parking in the area too (that may cost you depending on where you park).

Just go down to the Newport on the Levee and get to the riverbank from there!  1 Riverboat Row, Newport KY for your GPS.

Event Hours:

Thursday & Friday, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Saturday noon - 11 p.m.

Sunday noon - 9 p.m.

Hey, Liz and Bill. Can you ship me a couple of those 'babies' to me. I love Lobster. Oh Well, we do have plenty of Dungeness Crab here so I should not feel too bad. Have fun at the Festival.

Helen, We got a full tasting of Maine lobsters in June!  Took a long weekend in Boothbay Harbor and had a great time and a number of lobsters found their way onto our plates.  Mmmmmm, tasty!

BLiz seafood is my favorite, and fried whole belly claims (also known as steamers) are my favorite, had them last night.  We get spoiled around here with all the fresh seafood, we can even go right to the docks to get it.  Lobsters are among my favorites as well, even though right now they are a little price, they are well worth it.

Hope you get to go to the Festival, and enjoy a couple of those lobsters being trucked in from Maine.

Kathy, We had so much fresh out of the sea lobster in June while we were in Maine that I think we're good for the year :)

George, Liz is from Maryland, so fresh seafood is right up her alley!  Our trip to Maine was a lot of fun, and part of that was being able to taste the seawater everything was so fresh!

Conrad, We've been to Boothbay Harbor Maine twice and have totally loved it each time.  Great place to take a vacation and slow down a bit.
