I doubt the beaches in our area would 'rate' very high because most of our rentals come from condos and homes to vacationers. Fortunately we do not have an abundance of hotels.

Daytona has one of the most beautiful beaches  - and it was fun being able to drive on it.

Warm beaches seem like a dream to me as I sit here watching it snow. You are so fortunate to live where you do!

Midori, unforunately we don't have much in the way of beaches up this way.  Oh to be back in college and spend Spring Break on the beach in Daytona!  You're bringing back some good memories.

Hi Sean-Yes we are definitely set up for the tourists and vacationer's.  But we have plenty of condo's to sell!

Gaye-I find it interesting about the driving on the beach...I live very close so I rarely drive the car there.  I love the natural beauty and there is not concrete all over... personally I am not a big fan of the driving of cars on the beach like so many....I guess it's because I see what needs to be done daily so that the cars can drive on the beach...and the messes...

When my son lived with us in Daytona he would have people constantly asking him to help them get their cars off the beach...meaning...sand too soft...they got stuck!  I will say...I suppose that must be why we are known for our beach...and all the spring breakers!

Dena-I don't envy you all at all!  I am not a big fan of winter and our winters can be harsh to me!  I know it does not compare to what so many other's deal with weatherwise.  Yesterday is was 39 degrees...today around 70 and we wonder why people get the flue so bad here!  If ever you want to warm up!

Brian-spring break...young Brian and you remember????  Good for you!  I honestly can say there might have been a spring break or two I don't recall...darn those margarita's and those long island iced tea's...now when I just say them...I feel a little tipsy and get the willie's! :)

Midori, I've not been to Daytona - only to Fort Lauderdale in January. It was cold. That said, we have a great winter spot here in Arizona, but no beaches close by. Rockypoint is four hours away and California Beaches six hours. Good post!

Daytona is a great place.  However, as far as beaches go, I prefer the gulf coast beaches.  Our Bradenton beaches are hard to beat for beautiful white sand and emerald water.

Midori - I must say I agree with Dan about the gulf coast beaches.  My last visit to Florida was in this area and I loved the beaches there.  I must admit I haven't had the opportunity to cover the Atlantic side.  Hopefully that will be next time.

Midori- my family just purchased a place in New Sumerna beach, and we fly into Daytona so these beaches are probably similar tell me if there is a big difference for the next trip..

P.s. i'll be posting some info on my own get away spot in the white Mountains, keep an eye out, thanks for the update on the beaches we have received 12 feet of snow so far this year in New Hampshire.
