Do We Know What Thrills Them?

It's been a while since I wrote about the importance of clear communication, but a few things here recently have pursuaded me to again, readress this concept.

I was showing someone some homes and they made a remark about the fact that I had not shown them any homes listed by us. I pointed out that we didn't have any listings that specifically met thier criteria so I wasn't going to be showing them any of them.

As the converstation went on, they made a comment about another agent they had stopped working with, fired, because all they would show them was thier personal listings or only listings from thier office. Also, most, really none of them were what they were looking for.

WOW! I thought, aren't we supposed to be looking out for the buyer? As real estate consultants we take serious the responsibilty of matching our buyers with homes. We understand that may mean that they don't see any of our listings. That is OK. If some do match up, then great!

One thing we try to always do is revisit criteria. By knowing exactly what you want, we can do a better job in the match making game and make your dreams of homeowvership come true.

I also got this video in an email this week and thought it illustrated the point quite comically.

Wolfe...

Earlier this week I was actually discussing this topic with one of the other Member's.

Showing only their own listings is the cause of many an emptied handed salesperson.

Now...As far as that video goes...I feel like that little one every night when I sign on to goof around in the Rain :)

I sure spend a whole lot of time cracking myself up. I think I'll get down and roll on the floor now :)

TLW...ROAR!

Your right and I can't figure out why anyone wouldn't show the buyer what they want. Not much chance of making a sale that way.

TLW... sometime we also know need to be reminded of that... however we have gotten new clients because so many agents do this... maybe I should delete this post... :-)

Hank, you are right... we should never forget that we are just one of many, what we do separates us. We decide if that separation is good or bad.
