Decided to take an evening and go fising with my parents and sister.
I showed up at the time and we headed for the lake.
We dropped the boat in the water and pushed off.
Well, It took only a few seconds for my sister to tell me that the motor was not working."Didn't you check it at home before we left.
Ummm, no!
WE were already afloat so some paddling to get back to the dock and determine that, we were heading home.
We had a great laugh and being with family made it all worth while.
William, boating and fishing always brings families together. I used to keep two paddles on board for just such an occasion. With family the message isn't always delivered in a timely manner.
Glad you all had fun even without any fish. Sometimes plans get cut short by one simple tool that wont work, we have had too many days out in the woods like this.

William, as long as you had a good time anyway! Fishing is not for me, but my husband loves it. We have a pond he fishes in on the property, just for fun as everyone he catches goes right back in again. Even if he catches nothing, he loves it.
Bill, This has happened to us as well! I would have done a little bank fishing before heading home, especially while there already!
LOL...I know you have a routine, but going with someone else you don't interrupt theirs. Good lesson
There's nothing like family and you guys will probably laugh about this for a while. I remember pushing off with Dan one time only to find out he hadn't put the stopper in the boat. Thank goodness I was wearing sandals and wet feet didn't matter as much for that reason.
William, that's one of those funny family stories that takes on a life of its own!
