BPO stir Crazy

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner

2 days worth of applying to companies for BPO's!! I now have a Big Pounding Oversized headache!

What a chore.

At the moment I have access to 3 so far, yet no orders are available. I'm waiting on a bunch for approval and I'm keep my fingers crossed to get them.

Wish me luck :-)

I have been doing BPO'S for a few years. Other than my local Wells Fargo Bank who I do about 30 a year for because I know  all the people that work there. I get most of my other business from Clear Capital. Most of these companies have many other realtors on there list. When they have a BPO come up in your zip code areas they send a blanket e-mail to every agent in their database first one to accept gets the job so you have to be on the ball. In my area if you don't accept the offer within 5 minutes of you getting the e-mail somebody else will already have accepted it......Definitely good luck

You'll Be SOLD on us!

I have also spent the last two days in registering with companies for BPO's and REO's.  I hope I get something soon.  From what I am reading it does take a while to hear.  Thanks to Active Rain, I didn't pay for a list of companies.  Through all the Blogs, I got a great list.  Thanks to everyone for all their blogs and information.

This is something I just started applying for today- it gets a little tedious....but hopefully spending a a slow, snowy day like today doing something like this will pay off in the long run.

I spent hours signing up for them too... I have accepted to a few. One has sent me a few, but like a cat fight to get them accepted....they are sending to many agents at the same.

I've yet to see a BPO available. I'm accepted in 3 companies and going to register for more tomorrow (because today I'm down and out with a cold).

Johnny - I have read many blogs on BPOs here - if you search Blogs for BPO, you will find a lot.  I think I read one with a list of companies looking for agents.  I have done a few and didn't really like doing them.  They contacted me first, I asked where they got my name and they contacted all Realtors that were members of the chamber of commerce here.

It will prove itself, you just have to be patient.  I hear of some agents that do 10 a day - that's not going to happen in my market area.  Also, don't count on quick payment, sometimes it takes a month or more!

I've done a few so far and I tell you it's a learning curve. I'm hoping to get my organization straight so I can zip those BPO's in and out.

I don't mind BPO's some of the time but if they don't pay enough and you don't have time they can be very stressful.  I do try to do them when they are in a bind and call me.

This all sounds like a very time consuming process that can  be better spent.
