GTD Workflow Office and Desk Organization.
Today we continue to talk about office organization and decluttering in honor of the August Cloudburst Clutter challenge and the Moving of the Woodland Management Service office.
Today’s discussion is an important one so open up your ears, put on your glasses and get ready to take notes.
Last night I spoke about Stephanie Winston’s TRAF method, tonight I am going to introduce David Allen’s GTD Workflow system.
I was first introduced to David Allen and his GTD (Getting Things Done) systems about 15 years ago and have found most of them to be very insightful and useful however not quite as groundbreaking as many of his raving fans think it is, yet it is still very good and worth learning and practicing.
We will get into the details of GTD another time, tonight we will just focus on a small tool within this concept, the GTD Workflow System and Diagram.
In the two videos below you will find two approaches to the system.
In the first video David Allen takes us through the most recent Workflow Map with a little background on why this is important, study it and go to his site and download a free copy of the map as well.
In the second video, we have a different presenter going through the system with a more direct approach, using the original Workflow Map/Flowchart, not nearly as colorful as the first video, but it will take you to the point a lot quicker.
Enjoy the videos, take notes, and see if this system doesn’t have a tremendous impact on your office or home.
