What is Rotary?
I have to admit, before joining Rotary, I really didn't know much about it. I've been a Volunteer for one thing or another most of my life. I have a "heart for service". I want to help others and make a difference in the lives of others.
Early in 2011, a friend invited me (and my husband) to a Rotary meeting. She told us a little bit about the club and their projects. We were interested in getting involved so we went. We were hooked immediately. We joined the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club of Parker in April 2011.
Rotary International is a worldwide group of volunteers providing good works and community service. It began in Chicago, Illinois in 1905 with only 4 members. It has grown to 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs worldwide in more than 200 countries! I am proud to be part of such an amazing SERVICE organization powered by other volunteers who know the importance of caring for each other.
Locally, the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club of Parker supports several projects including the Douglas County Women's Crisis Center, Project Sanctuary, Douglas County Support Center, Legend High School Student of the Quarter and Trick or Treat on Mainstreet.
