What a day!  I survived Valentine's Day dinner that was made harder by my husband's insistence on perfection. (See earlier blog)  I was up washing tablecloths and doing house-hold chores and the phone rang.  I saw Dick Betts photo on my phone and thought he was calling on one of my blogs!  Instead he bellowed, "Where are you?  We have a front-row seat for you at my classes TODAY and we can't start without you!" 

Ohmygosh!! 

"Dick, is this the day of your meeting in Searcy?  I forgot all about it!  And if you read my blog yesterday you'd know why!"  What kind of an excuse is that?  I messed up.  I didn't use my calendar on my Treo 650 and I didn't set my alarm on my Treo 650.  I'm just a loser.

But I promised him I'd be there very quickly.  I rushed around and got there only 30 minutes late.  Of course when I entered the class I had to take the ridicule of the whole class PLUS the instructor.  One of the fun things about Dick's class is that he picks on someone all day long and guess who it was this time.  Deservedly so too!

Dick Betts does an excellent class.  I was not able to stay the whole day but during the time I was there I learned so much.  One of the most important things is probably to start using my calendar!  Thanks, Dick, for the wake-up call.   One of the things he taught us was that Google loves photos so I took one.  He didn't say they have to be quality photos!

Dick Betts is a national trainer.  He is especially noted for his expertise with Palm products, smart phones, etc.  If you need a good trainer, call him.  He is also blogging on ActiveRain so check out his blog.

Karen, what a pleasure to be called a trouble-maker.  I always wanted to be but was too scared!  Dick probably hasn't seen the less-than-flattering picture of himself yet.  Actually he is rather handsome with this really unusual gray in a perfect circle around his mouth with the rest of the beard and the hair black. My cell phone didn't do him justice but I was too scared to take more than one quick photo.

Barbara, with this story, and Dick being an expert on mobility products, sounded like it was a refresher course you needed <Smile>. My problem with my Blackberry is NOT adding events to the calendar all the time. No wonder I forget about them. That's an error on my part. Sounds like I am not the only one.

Hi Barbara,

Dick Betts is an awesome instructor.  He was here in Reno, NV last year.  I have Smartphone Treo 700P, and I take advantage all of its features except for the MP3 player.   I just have to remember to sync it with my laptop regularly.

Catherine, he really is a good instructor and very relevant with his materials.  I now sync my Treo 680 each morning but am thinking of doing the whole package for wireless.
