Also you want a realtor that is up to date with current real estate technology, and also has a good reputation with people in that specific area.

You should start narrowing down your choices between homes you see on the market in the database of home. A good realtor will have an online database of available homes, and this is the quickest way to filter through the bulk of available homes to narrow down the choices to a few that really stand out in your mind. You know what you will be comfortable buying, so make sure to take notes as you browse to write down certain things you like more about different homes.

Finalizing Your Choice

At some point you will have to make a decision, and you will probably end up deciding between two really great choices. At this point it is a good idea to write down the pros and cons of each, and see which one as more must have's and deal breakers, then you can better compare the two and make a logical decision between which one will be the better choice for you and you family.
