Short sales are dead right? Are you kidding me!

I am hearing people, people being realtors, consumers, "EXPERTS" saying the short sale market and REO market in areas I service is dead! Really? Well on a lot of fronts I wish that was the case, but the truth is altough we have had a major run up in pricing in areas I service in Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley, Palmdale and Lancaster we still and see short sales and see more coming. We in the industry and in the media need to be careful of discouraging needful homeowners the information on short sale as an option. One of the biggest reason is the scheduled expiration of the Mortgage debit relief act. This not renewed may have a MAJOR impact on homeowners down the road on their ability to do short sales so MANY homeowneres need to know about this expiring and possibly look into taking action now! I believe some of the lenders realize this and are not acting as quickly as they may because if the mortgage debit relief expires the banks have additional leverage. THIS IS STRICKLY MY OPINION. Any rate there are short sales on the market and there are more coming. You can BANK on that!
