Well I guess it should be no surprise to any of you that the Government is reading your Blog here at ActiveRain, but don't worry they are reading everyone's blog, emails, websites and communication across this vast Internet network. Well, actually a computer is collecting all this data and then putting trying to find anomalies in the data. Why - to catch terrorists or threats against our nation, government, citizens or the civilizations of mankind.
In fact, they are now designing Artificial Intelligent computers that can interact with humans in actual conversations where the human thinks its talking with another human online. Even spurring on emotional triggers to push the human into going into a fit of rage to see if they are dangerous, yes, this trick works good in catching terrorists. This is why they are designing rude robotic AI software now.

In the future robots will be side-by-side assistants to humans and will be programmed to interact with even hostile, agitated and rude people. At some point the robotic androids and simulated silicon partners will have to speak up and simply tell the human; "Man you are way out of line!" or "shut up" or " I get the point, enough of your complaining."
If robots are not programmed to take control of a deteriorating conversation or declining human dialogues, then the result will promote over bearing behavior from the human and this will be problematic, as the human may take a crowbar to the robot and that would be expensive. It also will hurt behavior when two actual humans interact with each other in the future. Robot assistants cannot always be completely agreeable, like some who kiss everyone's butt on ActiveRain for instance?

We need to start factoring into our artificial intelligent robots, human behavioral components, which are typical in our present period. If not, one would be interacting with their robotic assistant, which becomes so polite and agreeable that it is able to throw us over the edge to kill the thing; for instance the condescending attitude of a "Yes Man type" after a while you just want to clock the weak person for always agreeing with you. For true human interaction with robotic assistants to work, they will at some point need to stop mirroring our comments or always agreeing with us.
Once in a while, they are going to need to speak up for their own rights, otherwise humans will not respect them and thus we all lose. We will lose in their ability to serve man and thus we have wasted our time in building them in the first place. This is why when designing robots to replace Realtors and save money, the robots must be able to be humorous, helpful and occasionally rude with clients.
What do you think about that? (comment period open for 3-days only)
Should AI Robotic Androids Be Able to Tell Jokes?
There are obviously degrees of intelligence and if we are to call human beings, intelligent and I hear some people laughing in the background as I say this, but if we use the human brain as our model to design artificial intelligent robots then, well we have our work cut out for us.
Indeed, I would think that a higher-end artificially intelligent robot should be able to think enough to come up with its own jokes that their human companion would indeed laugh at. This subject came up recently in an online think tank when one member, Keith, while considering this subject stated;
"I couldn't disagree more. Humans expect computers "and robots" to respond with facts not deception, jovial or otherwise. Would you tolerate a clothes washing machine or dishwasher that said the items were clean when they were not? Or wasted your time accepting a command but not executing it, "as a joke"?"
This of course is not what I had in mind really, but this is an interesting point indeed that Keith makes. I was more considering that as humans have companion artificial intelligent robots, android assistants, the human must bond with the artificial intelligent robot and there needs to be an attempt to keep things on a level playing field of respect. Because taking advice from a robot or artificial intelligent machine you must respect it too. And thus you need report.
Now then if your washing machine screwed you over and you could not trust it that is one thing, a negative, yet if you had to live with an artificial person, then that person would need some additional human traits above and beyond mimicking behavior. Humor is something important; comic relief makes sense. Interesting subject no doubt and perhaps you might consider.
