I used to live in New Jersey where you would lose your drivers license for a first violation of having an open container in the car of an alcoholic beverage - very strict.  So now bringing a half drank bottle of wine home from a restaurant.  Vermont does not have such a law and people openly drink alcohol in their cars. I will never get used to that.
