Kentlands Annual Dog Swim, September 2

 

The Kentlands community annual dog swim will take place on the final day of the pool season, September 2, 2013. The swimming pool will close for the season at 4 p.m. and the dogs will be allowed in the pool and can swim until 6 p.m.

This is an enjoyable event for dog owners in Kentlands. Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture some good photographs.

For out of town readers, Kentlands is a wonderful neo-traditional community located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, in the heart of Montgomery County. Kentlands is one of the favorite communities for families that are relocated to the metro area of Washington, DC.

Hi Roy,

The title reminded me of when i was a kid and would go to the Coon hunting events. The dog swim was a very big event. We won a lot of times. But that was back in the 1960's.

Roy - I have never heard of this type of event in a pool! How funny this must be. I hope you can go and snap some pictures and share them with us!

Can it be said then that the pool has gone to the dogs? What a great event for pet owners. i would love to be able to watch. Yesterday i went to the lake and saw a dog on a paddle board, they were a little too far out to get a clear picture with my zoom though. Have a good Monday

Love the idea of a pool party for the pups - some of them just don't know how to swim (like my bulldog) but they can definitely waddle!

Hi, Roy...this would be a great event with a lot of photo opps. I hope you get a chance to go and share some pictures will all of us. I don't know if my dog can swim, but I recently found out that one of my cats can practically walk on water when in a pinch and faced with a wet situation.
