I'm gonna put my foot down today and finally say what one calls the Elephant in the room and that is this.... "There is just no room to have THREE giant players Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com in today's marketplace."
First I'll disclose that I think we as business people are idiots for allowing our content to be sold back to us.... Second its probably even dumber for us to be installing these companies widgits on our own websites which only bring their sites higher then our own on the search engines....but heck I never said real estate people were smart. With that said (guess you know where I stand now)
I will say that there is no way all 3 of these companies will exist in the 1,2,3 spots by 2014. If you don't see that, then you don't understand history of business, professors teach in business school that when competitors fight for extreme market share and they have no true differential that they will drain resources and only one will win to be the "dominate" force. If you want proof I could give you dozens of examples.... remember the Sirius vs XM war where Sirius rose from the ashes to force XM basically out of business and into a forced merger.
So watch your news for a really big announcement....Yes CHANGE is coming and remember that Jonathan Lerner said it here first, even though everyone else months from now will say they predicted it.
