Of course the door and jamb can be fixed, anything can be. It may be a little more involved than just putting some glue and nails into it and making it look pretty.
Once the door or door jamb has been kicked in, it is no longer structurally sound to do what it used to be able to do. It will be much easier, and less secure to piece it back together. The repairs can still be done, just with more strength.
A repair would involve replacing the entire leg of the door jamb. In this case the strike side can be removed and replaced. Of course, in some cases it is best just to remove the door and jamb and replace with a new door and door jamb.
