Strive For Win Win In All Relationships

Win WinI think it is important to

Strive For Win Win In All Relationships.

In personal relationships the scales can tip to one being more sacrificing at points in time, BUT

with BUSINESS relationships it is critical to work hard on this WIN WIN right from the outset so one side does not get all the goodies and the other side feels like they got the short end of the stick and the place is stinking up. I see your ability to GET TO WIN WIN at the outset. If a rental customer calls to meet you at a house and they don't show up, DON'T WORK with them anymore. If after a short while as a buyer rep if it just feels WRONG in so may ways, FIRE YOURSELF. If a listing client at every turn will not cooperate with what it takes to sell their house FIRE THEM. Do not let a WIN LOSE situation drag out. Sometimes you do have to bite your tongue with POWER or MONEY where someone has an advantage over you or your party represented but that is where you are keeping the prize in sight like selling a home, or netting a profit.

THE LOSE END of a WIN LOSE arrangement does seem like a skunk letting you have a load of stink, and if anything else you will LEARN from it and not do it again WASTING your very valuable TIME, ENERGY, and MONEY.

It's common sense, you have heard it before, but put that POST IT note on your forehead:

WIN WIN or NO DEAL !!!!

We are in charge of our lives and who we deal with.  If it isn't working it needs to be changed.

Gary,

So true...I'm currently working a transaction where the seller has to win at every juncture. It just makes everyones job that much more difficult.

I agree Gary. It is give and take. Anyone can fight, a real big person can make things happen and not be selfish. These words (your post) are words to live by.

Gary, I agree. If I am left sitting at a rental waiting, I don't do that again. I also have a clause in my short sale listings that says if the seller doesn't cooperate, we can cancel the listing.

Life is too short for all that!

Gary,

In real estate sales that’s WIN-win!

Parity is mythical in most arms length transaction, but the wise and successful will always make sure that their adversary sees how he’s better off accepting their offer, easly seeing that they win as compared to losing.

Gary  after I read your title about Win-Win, I found myself wondering how that fox was going to possibly end up in a win-win situation.

However, it turns out that your picture illustrated your point perfectly.  Sometimes to get to the win-win situation you have to walk away from a less desirable situation rather than try to turn it into something that it is not.
