A PERFECT New York City Day....When I can, I love to add pictures.  Yes, Rod Stewart was right, every picture tells a story.  I had written about that beautiful, spring-like day we had in January and showed several pictures of Central Park.  What I didn't realize at the time was how many people LOVE that park and some have some very special memories there.  This post is just a walk up to the Park but I am going to add more photos of Central Park to enjoy. What exactly is it that a Feng Shui Consultant loves about New York City?  EVERYTHING!

My daughter was home for winter break when we heard a high would be in the 60's for that day; we just looked at each other and didn't have to say a word.  On the very first warm, sunny day after the winter each year I head to Central Park-to get outside, to see the city and to thoroughly enjoy a beautiful day.  We got up early the next morning and that's exactly what we did.

Arriving at Penn Station, these pictures were just our walk up to Central Park.  New York City anytime of year is wonderful but I had the feeling when we arrived there that everyone had the same thought:  Take a day off and just go play!  That's EXACTLY what we did.  I hope you enjoy your walk...

Penn Station by Feng Shui Long Island ConsultantPenn Station is VERY underrated!  Some of the Artwork is just lovely.

It's easy to get lost in Penn; it's also easy to find some wonderful food!

You can see the sign for Bubba Gump's Shrimp Factory.  I would have thought this would be a "touristy" place with bad food....Wrong!  Actually, you walk up several flights of stairs so you are looking down while you eat at Times Square.  And the Shrimp?  If you like it, they make it every way imaginable :)

Feng Shui ManhattanStill in the Heart of Times Square.  One thing is missing, something New York has become famous for---The Naked Cowboy.  Yes, I have pictures but decided not to show them.  However, he is quite a character and shouldn't be missed if you're taking a trip to NYC!

New York City Feng Shui ConsultantThis Gem you might miss....it's downstairs and if you aren't looking for it, you just might pass it.  It's a restaurant called MARS 2112.  You take a ride (A Disney type Ride) to enter the restaurant where you are greeted by a bunch of Aliens!  And yes, the speak English :)

Some beautiful architecture.  And some Famous New York Hot Dogs (we call them Dirty Dogs).  HINT:  Get one BEFORE you enter Central Park, the price increases 100%! )

Whew, we've walked about 25 blocks or so already....and the day is just starting!  You are about to enter Central Park in ALL seasons!  You're welcome to come back and share the rest of our gorgeous day in New York City.

OK - I'm parked on a bench waiting for you.  Wake me up when you get to the park.  LOL  I love those days when we can play hooky and enjoy our own surroundings.  Thanks for taking me on your adventure!

Carole~60 degrees? Oh how I'm longing for that warmth in Utah, but for now I will enjoy the sun that is shining overhead to kiss us on the cheeks. This is fabulous that you took advantage of a warm day and these photos inspire me. I think I've mentioned to you before that I would love to see NY. This is a great taste of it my friend. Have a beautiful Sunday!

Carole, thanks for the walking tour of NYC. I love it especially on a nice weather day. The artwork in Penn Station is awesome. Where are these craftsmen today. I have also been to the Hershey store in Times Square. Very cool. Pictures tell a very vivid story I agree.

Carole~  Thanks for sharing some of the hidden gems in New York.  I have very fond memories of my visits to New York when I was taking some depositions in superfund cases.  Each time I went, I tried to stay over the weekends so I could do some tour.  I found a couple of these places, but missed so much.  I certainly will have to try to get to New York to catch what I missed.

Carol, Turn the engine off :)  I want to go through my pictures of the park to pick out the best that I have--in this computer.  Be thankful I don't have ones from years ago!

Julie, It was one absolutely glorious day in the middle of winter.  When we heard that forecast, there was no question where we were going!  Come to New York, you would LOVE it (and I'm a great guide :)

Marzena, I'm glad you get to spend some time in the City.  There are so many places in all parts of the city that I love.

Vanessa, No, don't bring food.  We can eat by the boathouse or Tavern on the Green right in the Park!

Kathy, I don't think the Naked Cowboy would sue, he loves his picture taken....I didn't show it because I didn't want it to offend anyone (and you never know).

Gary, I had never noticed that small museum in Penn of all the thousands of times running in and out of there--I wonder how I missed it.

Jo, I hope you'll come to New York City sometime and see it all in person.  The pictures just don't do it justice and you can't feel that energy that's in NYC.

Joan, I normally don't like tours but New York has some wonderful ones.  New York Onion Tours are walking tours and you can choose your part of the city--and the tour through Lincoln Center I wouldn't miss, it's amazing to watch them practice for an opera!

Gayle, We only had that one perfect day---it was freezing again the day after.  I'd love to have lunch with you anytime you come!

Sally, The naked cowboy has been around for so many years you wouldn't want to miss him if you came to NY.  I think he's as popular as the Empire State Building :)

Fernando, It sounds like you're due for a visit---I know I would miss it.  The upper East Side, wow, that's one nice place to have been!

Dena, We have some time before we will have weather like that again.  It was just one beautiful day that went all too fast.  Come when it's warmer, May or June.  I love the heat but you may not be used to it, I don't know if the summer would be too hot for you.

Carole, great Post. I never knew there was a museum in Penn Station. I've only been there a million times. I guess I'm always in a hurry lol. You know they are tearing it down and moving into the Farley Post Office on 8th Ave. along with Madison Square Garden it's going to be the Moynihan station.

Carole, I haven't been in a City in a while and your pictues definitely bring a lot of memories.  My younger son still talks about Hershey's store, and Mars 212 was a lot of fun.  It really is a great city to walk around in.

Mitchell, What are they tearing down, the museum or Penn?  It took me so many years to find my way around there.  I, too, have been there thousands of times and never saw a museum wall!  We must be rushing too much!

Diane, Good, that's what I was trying to do :)

Deborah, You've got to get to New York, you would adore the museums here, they are absolutely spectacular!

Cynthia, I know many people like NYC and wish they could get here more often.

Candy, You will absolutely need some time to spend here, there is SO much to see and do...and you don't want to rush it all.

Maria, I love that so many people love it here, it isn't because I'm a New Yorker, it's just because New York IS wonderful!

Oh Joan, In that case I'll have a surprise for you when you get to New York :)  Seriously, he's now well known all over and you can find him in the Heart of Times Square most of the time.

Vita, I loved Mars 2112, I didn't know many people knew about it---even I had fun there!

Lisa, I feel the Energy there so strongly it is amazing.  And it's a good energy, not just rushing; I love spending time there.

Kris, I bet you would love it almost as much as I do!  It's certainly busy and there's never a lack of fun things to do.

Kevin & Monica, I love Boston as well, I try to make it up there once a year during the summer, it's a wonderul walking city.

Jeff & Grace, You both should come back every year and celebrate it :)  Wouldn't that be a wonderful thought?  I can't imagine a nicer place for Jeff to have chosen.

Did you know the Naked Cowboy is suing M&M? This is no joke. M&M had a short lived billboard depicting an M&M in Naked Cowboy style boots, hat, guitar and tidy whiteys.

Rosario, I couldn't believe your comment---he's already famous and there's a line to get up to him some days to get your picture taken with him!   Wow, I am amazed that he would sue M & M, you would think it would be more of an attraction!  Thank you for telling me, if he's gone I will know he won the lawsuit!

Trace, That was only half the day; I didn't get to post the end of it.  Those pictures take so long to find and download but it WAS wonderful!

Gita, You have to take the ride down, it was so much fun!  I believe it's not far from the wax museum which I heard has many additions to it since I went :)

Donna, You country girl..what a great story that would be:  The City Girl and the Country Girl.  We'd have to start our own reality show :)
