You Tube and Video Marketing

By
Industry Observer with Digital and Direct Response Marketing

I finally put up my first video on You Tube.

This video was recorded by Donald Trump when we launched Trump University. I have a lot of friend who upload all sort of videos to help grow their business and to get themselves some publicity. I figured it was about time to upload a video and to see what happens. We are going to upload a few more over the next few weeks to see if we can use video to market our business. One of our videos will have the goal of getting video responses and hopefully creating a viral/word of mouth marketing effort.

Has anyone in AR used video to market themselves, a business or a property?

What have your experiences been with video marketing? Is there a return on your invested time?

Josef,

The consumer-the Realtor, buyer and seller-have already chosen photographic virtual tours as their choice for marketing their listings.

RE video has a very small niche, dedicated to luxury properties and possibly dynamic agencies and agents.

Realtors need to focus on being local experts, offering great content at their blogs and being available to the internet consumer.

Take a look at Bloodhound Blog and check mine out if you want to see what one million buyers a month come to see.

Elaine, We will keep you posted.  Kids get it for sure but if you want to stay competitive we all have to 'get it'.

Steve, I agree with being a local expert and you seem to have the Web2.0 'stuff' down but I think it might be a mistake to assume that virtual tours are the choice of realtors going forward.  Video allows more interactivity and can give the consumer more info then the current virtual tour.  It will be interesting to see how video changes the way we all do business. Thanks.

Steve - I had stumbled across Josef's post on another blog which lead me to investigate his concepts more & lead me here. I am a video marketer and have been talking to some realtors about using video. I agree that video really can only be used to sell homes on the high end level, but there are other ways to use video in real estate.  Some ideas we have been working on are providing highlights of the town or surrounding area for potential & new home owners. For example, if someone is looking to buy in a certain town, a good video could introduce them to the area & help them decide if the town is right for them. Also, a realtor could highlight certain neighborhoods or condo associations with key features that would be similar in multiple homes, so when they are selling in that area, they could use that video with additional information about the specific home for sale.  This might all be what you were considering "dynamic agencies & agents" but I think it will become more & more the standard as todays video-conscious teens grow up to be home buyers.

Great post. Enjoyed the videos. We're toying with the thought of doing a montage on You Tube. We weren't sure if we should bother, but it appears to be a pretty good place to start.

C,

When you get the montage up on You Tube please share the link.  We are always looking to see what works and how others are using the technology.

Thanks for reading.
